Has anyone used the Ninco/Scaly conversion track? Does it make a good smooth transition? I was going to use it to add scaly to my Ninco track. Will be used for a curvy inner section with longer sraights and big curves outside using Ninco. I suppose I'll have to change all my guides though, to fit the scalextric track.
I'll probably get a Scalextric set with cars and buy 2 transition tracks. I want to add a timer also, which brand would be better?Nothing fancy, just lap time. I plan on using the power packs from my Ninco ( 1 per lane ) at this time with the better connection straight.
I hope to fit all this on 2 ping pong tables set in an L shape, although I might have to change that.

The Ninco/Scalextric adapter track is fine. There is not much I can say about it other than it inserts a very slight dog-leg as it narrows down to Scalextric separation. But it's hardly noticeable.
Excellent idea of Ninco's!

Thanks Tropi!
Is the new sport track compatable or do they make an adaptor for it to ninco? I heard that it has a deeper slot.
I guess I'll use the ninco timer since I know it will work with the ninco powerpacks.

I doubt that a direct adapter from Ninco to Scalextric Sport track will become available, though you never know.
But it's easy to arrange by using the existing Ninco adapter to Scalextric Classic and then Scalextric Classic to Sport adapter. Each adapter is a half straight, so the entire transition takes place in one full length. I'm not sure of the Ninco adapter price, but the Scalextric Sport to Classic is incredibly cheap - excellent strategy by Scalextric - £2 ($3) a pair in UK, not sure for USA.

I was thinking about the Ninco connection tracks, evidentally the standard one burns out easily which is why they make the heavier duty double power straight. Could I use 2 regular connection tracks , 2 power packs with 2 controllers, only using 1 lane on each connection track and achieve the same result? 2 powerpacks on the standard connection track doesnt give any more protection against overload, just even power to each lane.
The reason for doing this would be the price. At $45.00US for the double straight and a second power pack at $18.99 I'm getting close to the price of another complete ninco set. I can get a complete low end set for about $87.00 - $99.00 at ncphonnies.com and would get extra cars, track etc.
Just wondering before I buy.

I'm sorry, but I don't think I can respond to this one intelligently, as I have never used the Ninco powerpacks or power feed sections myself.
I follow your reasoning on the costs and I too would be very tempted to go after a complete new set on that basis.
Perhaps someone with experience of Ninco power feed sections might jump in here?

If it would work, I would also have the option of placing the connections further apart or wherever giving me more flexibility on track layout. I also am getting the Parma 25ohm controllers, if you are using the ninco controller the wire is real short, although you can get extensions. Not sure how long the wire is on the Parma.
Guess I could just try it and if it does eventually burn out the connection tracks, I'll just buy the better one then. At least that way I'll already have the powerpack, track and the cars etc.

Forget about connector tracks, and just hardwire direct to a couple of standard straights.

All your electrical problems will be over.
